The Office Season 3
Overview
Jim's in Stamford, and The Office is never quite the same again. Season three opens with him having fled Scranton — and Pam — for a branch where Karen Filippelli actually returns his interest and Ed Helms' Andy Bernard, a rage-prone Cornell man, immediately starts stealing scenes. Then the branches merge, Stamford pours into Scranton, and the show gets to reboot itself: new faces, new rivalries, Michael Scott performing his chaos for a bigger audience than ever. This is the season where the cringe goes weapons-grade — a premiere in which Michael outs Oscar to the entire office and then tries to apologise in the worst way imaginable, a Christmas party split in two by sheer spite, and a work do at the CFO's house where Michael and Jan's relationship detonates in public. Underneath all of it, the Jim-Pam-Karen triangle is quietly devastating, played by John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer and Rashida Jones almost entirely in glances, pauses and bad timing. By the finale — a job interview in New York and one interrupted conversation — this sitcom about a paper company has become a story about people realising their lives are happening right now.
