Luther Season 3
Overview
Season 3 might be Luther at its bleakest. There's a killer breaking into women's homes and leaving them staged like mannequins — the kind of case that gets under your skin — and then something even harder to police: a vigilante murdering criminals the system failed to punish, livestreaming his logic to a public that starts cheering him on. Luther can catch monsters; catching a folk hero is another matter entirely. Off the job, there's a flicker of hope in Mary, a woman he meets by accident who makes a normal life look briefly possible. But Internal Affairs has him in its sights now, with Erin Gray — once his own colleague — feeding an investigation run by a man who sees Luther as a criminal with a badge. Everything squeezes. Idris Elba plays the whole season like a man holding a door shut against water, and the cost of Luther's methods, which the show has always flirted with, finally comes due in a way that genuinely hurts. Four episodes, no filler, and a final scene on a rooftop that fans still argue about. If you've made it this far into the series, this is the season that earns its darkness.
