The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 1 is the first season of Amazon Prime Video's epic fantasy series, based on the appendices of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. The first season is set thousands of years before the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, during the Second Age of Middle-earth. The first season follows an ensemble cast of characters across multiple storylines, including Galadriel (Morfydd Clark), who is hunting Sauron; Elrond (Robert Aramayo), a young elf; Durin IV (Owain Arthur), a dwarf prince; and the harfoots, the ancestors of the hobbits. The first season ends with the revelation that Halbrand is Sauron, and the forging of the first Rings of Power.
