Doom Patrol Season 1
Overview
Not every superhero team saves the city with a smile. This one can barely save itself. Doom Patrol follows a group of misfits brought together by trauma, each living with a body or a mind that betrayed them. Cliff Steele, played by Brendan Fraser, is a former race car driver whose brain now lives inside a robot body. Larry Trainor, played by Matt Bomer, is a pilot hosting a negative energy being he can't control. Jane, played by Diane Guerrero, carries 64 personalities, each with a different power. Season 1 leans into the surreal and the emotional in equal measure, treating superpowers as metaphors for grief, shame, and identity rather than just cool effects. Weird on purpose. Heartfelt underneath. If you like your heroes strange and human, this offbeat team is well worth meeting.
