Overview

Coming home from war isn't the same as being home again. After a brain injury in Afghanistan, soldier Lynsey returns to New Orleans with a body that doesn't work like it used to and a mind that keeps circling back to what she lost. Then she meets James, a local mechanic carrying his own grief, and their friendship becomes a lifeline for both of them. This is a small, patient film. No big speeches. Just the slow work of rebuilding a life, day by day. Jennifer Lawrence is beautifully understated here, and Brian Tyree Henry matches her with warmth and ache. Hopeful, but never sentimental. Sometimes connection really is the first step back. Quiet, small, and oddly comforting — the kind of film that doesn't shout, but still gets through to you.
