Beverly Hills Cop Axel F

Overview

Some guys mellow out. Axel Foley just got funnier. Decades after his last Beverly Hills trip, he's still bending rules in Detroit when trouble involving his daughter drags him back to California. What starts as a family crisis turns into a proper case, and Axel has to team up with a younger detective who does everything by the book, which, as you can guess, drives them both a bit mad. Eddie Murphy is the whole show here, that laugh, that hustle, that way of talking his way into rooms he shouldn't be in. Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Taylour Paige give him solid partners to bounce off. Warm, quick, full of callbacks that don't get in the way. Pure comfort viewing, badge and all.
