Abbott Elementary Season 3
Overview
Janine Teagues finally gets her big break — and it takes her out of Abbott. Quinta Brunson's relentlessly optimistic teacher starts the season on a fellowship at the school district, swapping her classroom for blazers, boardrooms and one very ambitious career day, while back at Abbott, Gregory, Barbara, Melissa and Jacob carry on without her and pretend they're totally fine. They're not, and honestly, neither is she. The season runs shorter than usual — the Hollywood strikes cut it to fourteen episodes — but the writers turn that into the story: does Janine actually want the career ladder, or does she just want her noisy little classroom back? And will she and Gregory (Tyler James Williams) ever stop orbiting each other and just talk? Janelle James still steals every scene as Principal Ava, who's somehow thriving through all of it, and Sheryl Lee Ralph and Lisa Ann Walter remain the show's warm, sarcastic heart. There's a stretch mid-season where the whole staff quietly rallies around one of their own that might make you tear up, and the finale nudges the show somewhere genuinely new. Sweet, sharp, and still the most good-hearted comedy on TV.
