Scream VI
Overview
Ghostface has followed them to New York, and the city gives the killer a million new places to hide. The survivors of the Woodsboro killings have done what horror-movie survivors are supposed to do: moved away, started over. Sam Carpenter (Melissa Barrera) and her sister Tara (Jenna Ortega) are building new lives in the city - new friends, new routines, a skyline that feels nothing like home. Then the calls start again. A new Ghostface is hunting them, and this one is playing by the franchise's cruelest rules: nobody is safe, the body count climbs fast, and the past is never as buried as you think. The change of scenery genuinely refreshes the formula. Woodsboro was quiet streets and empty houses; New York is crowds, bodegas and subway cars - and the film stages at least one convenience-store sequence so brutal and relentless that it instantly ranks among the series' best set pieces. There's nowhere to run when the killer can vanish into eight million people. Six films in, this is a legacy sequel that understands exactly why people keep coming back: the meta humor, the genuine scares, and a final-girl duo worth rooting for. Slashers don't get much more fun than this.
