Overview
Maxine Minx survived a massacre in 1979, and she is not about to let it be the most interesting thing about her. Los Angeles, 1985: the sole survivor of X is now an adult film star with her eyes locked on mainstream Hollywood, and she's just been cast in a horror sequel, The Puritan II. This is her shot. There's just one problem — a serial killer the press calls the Night Stalker is terrorizing Los Angeles, and Maxine has become a suspect. The third film in the X trilogy, following X and Pearl, is a love letter to 1980s horror: neon, sleaze, practical effects and gore, all shot like a fever dream of the era. Mia Goth, playing Maxine for the third time, gives a powerful, committed performance — a woman who will walk over anyone, possibly literally, to get her name in lights. What makes the film tick is that tension: a survivor who refuses to play victim ever again, chasing fame through a city where someone else is hunting in the dark. It builds to a bloody, satisfying finale that earns every drop. Come for the slasher thrills; stay for Goth, who treats B-movie stardom like it's the role of a lifetime — because for Maxine, it is.
