Imaginary

Overview

Imaginary is a 2024 supernatural horror film directed by Jeff Wadlow, starring DeWanda Wise as Jessica, a woman who returns to her childhood home with her family. Her stepdaughter, Alice (Pyper Braun), discovers a stuffed bear, Chauncey, in the basement. She becomes obsessed with Chauncey, who she claims is her imaginary friend. Jessica soon discovers that Chauncey is not imaginary, and that he is a malevolent entity. The film is a classic "evil toy" horror film, reminiscent of Child's Play and Annabelle. It relies on jump scares and creepy imagery. The film was a commercial success, earning over $40 million on a $13 million budget. It was panned by critics, but it was a hit with audiences.
